IP University mulls increasing around 1,100 seats in campus schools.

IP University is gearing up for a substantial increase in its academic capacity, with plans to add approximately 1,100 seats across various campus schools and centers, according to Vice Chancellor Padmashri Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma.

Presently, the university offers around 3,300 seats in different programs within its campus schools and centers. The proposed expansion aims to elevate this capacity to about 4,400 seats, aligning with the growing demand for seats in these institutions. Notably, the seats in campus schools and centers have remained static for the past decade, unlike the affiliated institutes which have witnessed seat increments.

University School of Information & Communication Technology is set to witness significant changes, with plans to increase seats for B. Tech(Computer Sciences) from 90 to 180, B. Tech(IT) from 70 to 120, and B. Tech(ECE) from 70 to 120. Additionally, the school intends to introduce two new programs – B. Tech(CSE) Artificial Intelligence and B. Tech(CSE) Data Science, each with an initial intake of 60 seats.

In IP University the University School of Chemical Technology, there are proposals to enhance the seats for B. Tech(Chemical Technology) from 70 to 120. Furthermore, plans include increasing seats for B. Tech(Bio Technology) from 40 to 60, introducing 60 seats for MSc(Environment Management), and offering 60 seats for the four-year BSc(Environment Management) program.

The IP University is also eyeing the launch of dual-degree courses, including BSc-MSc in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with 60 seats each in the University School of Basic & Applied Sciences. Additionally, four-year integrated courses for BEd in general, sciences, and commerce are in the pipeline, each with 50 seats.

University School of Law & Legal Studies is gearing up for an expansion, with plans to increase seats for the five-year integrated law course from 80 to 120. The School of Management is contemplating the introduction of BBA and B. Com(H) with 60 seats each, along with an additional 30 seats for MBA(Analytics).

IP University Planning:

In its pursuit of academic excellence, IP University is also planning to initiate M. Tech(Food Technology) with 30 seats, BS(Mass Media) with 60 seats, and D. Pharma with 60 seats. Furthermore, the university envisions an increase in seats for existing programs such as B. Pharma (100 seats), M. Pharma (60 seats), and Bachelor of Physiotherapy (50 seats) at the Centre for Excellence in Pharmaceutical Science. These strategic expansions signify the university’s commitment to accommodating the evolving educational landscape and catering to the diverse academic needs of students.
